Chairman & CEO – Denis Murphy
Denis co-founded Anaeko in 2004 and has over 20 years of sales and management experience, spanning mobile telecoms and ITSM. Denis has a proven track record of building and exiting niche software companies.
Prior to joining Anaeko, Denis was Chairman of Mobile Cohesion, a company he had co-founded after leaving Openwave in 2002.
At Openwave he was Country Manager for Ireland and also responsible for the development of the company’s field organisation in Europe.
Prior to Openwave, Denis was the Managing Director and co-founder of APiON. During his time at APiON he grew the company to over 200 people and developed world class competencies in all the key component technology areas that underlie the mobile middleware space. This strategy led to the development of APiON’s first-to-market WAP gateway and the acquisition of the company by Phone.com for $250m. At that time, this was the largest acquisition in Northern Ireland’s history. Phone.com then became Openwave through the merger with Software.com.
Prior to APiON, Denis held a range of Sales and Partner management roles at Aldiscon (Dublin).
Denis holds a range of technology investments and sits on the board of QUBIS, the Queens University spin out fund.
He holds a degree in Business Studies from University College Galway and an MBA from the Michael Smurfit Business School at University City Dublin. In addition, he has postgraduate qualifications in computer science and management information systems and is a graduate member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster.
Director – Richard McConnell
Richard co-founded Anaeko in 2004 and has over 18 years technical management experience in the Telecoms industry. Richard has been at the forefront of telecoms software innovation for past 2 decades.
Richard is currently CTO at Aepona where he leads the company’s Telecoms Web Services strategy.
Prior to Aepona, Richard was COO of Mobile Cohesion, a company he co-founded after leaving Openwave in 2002. At Openwave, Richard was Group VP & General Manager, Mobile Infrastructure and previously VP Engineering He was responsible for driving the product and market strategies of the company’s mobile products at the highest level.
Prior to Openwave, Richard was Technical Director and Co-Founder, APiON. Richard was responsible for the development of Apion’s first to market WAP Gateway product.
CTO – Colm Hayden
Colm has over 14 years experience in delivering leading edge software products and solutions. As Technical Director of Anaeko Colm drives the company’s product strategy and provides architectural design consultancy to Anaeko clients.
Colm has a particular specialisation in Service Level Management, Agile Data Integration, Mobile Advertising and Service Delivery Platforms.
Colm has held a range of technical lead roles in software innovation networks and initiatives including NISINE, The SDP Alliance, the Mobile Advertising Alliance and JAIN.
Colm also co-founded and organises MobileMonday Belfast, Ireland’s chapter of the global MobileMonday network for telecoms software professionals.
Prior to Anaeko, Colm was CTO of Responsian where he architected and delivered several eGovernment applications for eConsultation, eLobbying and eMonitoring.
Prior to Responsian, Colm played a technical lead role in Aepona’s R&D. Before that at APiON Colm helped define several extensions to the Java platform as a key architect of SUN Microsystem’s JAIN initiative.
COO – David Kerr
David joined Anaeko in February of 2014 and has over 15 years experience in financial, operational and commercial management of Software Services, Support and SaaS organisations. As Anaeko COO David drives the company operations, financial management and customer success.
Prior to Anaeko, David had a variety of management roles over 13 years at Openwave, culminating as Director of Global Customer Support & EMEA Professional Services. David ran these organisations providing Customer Support, Managed Services and Professional Services to leading Broadband and Mobile Telecoms companies across the globe.
David holds a BSc in Computer Science from Queens University, Belfast.
Board Advisor – Prof Joe Peppard
Joe is Professor of Management and a Program Director at the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin, Germany.
Previously, he has held academic appointments at Cranfield School of Management (UK), Loughborough University (UK), Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland), Groningen University (the Netherlands), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and University of Sydney (Australia) and is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Australia.
He is a Non-Executive Director of IT Alliance Group, an outsourcing and managed service provider, and previously served as Chairman of the Board of Fineos Corporation, a global provider of innovative software solutions for insurance, bank assurance, and social insurance.
The focus of Professor Peppard’s research and teaching is in the area of information technology strategy and leadership. He has written a number of books in these areas and his research has been widely published in academic and practitioner journals. He is currently updating his book (with John Ward) Strategic Planning for Information Systems, 4th Edition, and writing a book (with John Thorp) Digital Leadership for Boards and C-Suites.
In 2009 The Operational Research Society awarded him the prestigious Stafford Beer Medal for his research while he received the Best Paper Award at the 2012 American Marketing Association’s International Service Research Conference.
